Camp Carnival Highlights Second Month
|
|
|

|
One of the major highlights of the camp season and the one enjoyed most by
everybody in camp was the annual camp carnival.
Concessions ranging from the sport of kings, Crawfish Racing, to the
latest in aviation, Branagan’s fabulous aerial tramway, added a
professional air to the carnival.
Each camper equipped with $.75 could demonstrate his skills at
knife-throwing, miniature golf, skee ball, dart and ping pong ball
throwing.
|
By far the cleverest was Nick and Ed’s
Bookie Joint, but a lightening fast raid put them out of business.
A concession that attracted much attention was Mowgli’s Maze. Only sharp
scouts could maneuver out of its clutches in winning time.
Credit has to be given John Keeler and everyone else who aided in
preparing the lavish meal.
Attention must be called to the fast but efficient work of the counselors
in cleaning up the carnival grounds. This year’s camp carnival should be
remembered as one of the best and should serve as a good example for
future carnivals.
