The temperatures are climbing
and the pre-season pace is building along with it. So much to report these
days that we have decided to dispense with the long monthly updates.
Yet another record has fallen, as our ubiquitous black pipe is not only
connected, but the water is flowing all the way from Split Rock to
Dockside! The upper courts are likewise crackling to life with the
sounds of "Love - 40!" as Kingswood tennis players hone their
skills under the afternoon sun.
Late into the evening and at the crack of dawn, the lower ballfield is
being prepared for a heavy dose of lime, fertilizer and seed. The green
thumbs of our crack caretaker crew are being put to the test in order
ensure that this season's Junior tee ball games are played on a lush field
of dreams!
Paul Kyer, who hadn't been back to camp since 1979, is the latest lost
alum to drop by for a quick visit. By the way, we are receiving more and
more requests for fellow alumni contact information these days. A
plaintive plea to those who wish to be found. PLEASE take a moment to send
us a quick update so we can add it to the "Where R U Now?" page.
Speaking of the alumni page, our techie tinkerbells have responded to the
requests and have upgraded the "buttons" and are attempting to
speed up the download time as well. Please have patience! We could still
use pictures from summers past... although many will be surprised to see
themselves already up in various internet nooks and web crannies :-D
For those who are able, please consider joining Eric "King of All
White Mtn Trestles" Henchey this weekend for our latest work weekend
and do not miss out on this year's Memorial Day extravaganza, for we
expect that it will be the largest gathering of its kind!!
Reminder to the Board of Managers that there is a 6:30pm meeting on
Thursday, May 11th at Waltham.
