The Roof, the roof, the roof is... being shingled
Special thanks to all who took the time to come up and
help out at camp this week! Tom Marden,
George Pacheco, Marty Stanton,
Geoff Ball, Terry Orr,
Jason Rogers, Nat Gordon,
Jill Gary, Kate Bowie,
Grace Marden, Keith McCarthy,
Andy Sherman, Herb Brasseur
and Dave Brasseur.
The pre-pre-season work detail was successful on Thursday
and Friday for the:
- Great strides made in stripping and reshingling the roof
of the Junior House thanks to the yeoman-like efforts of the '99 Ridge runners -
"Nail gunner" Marden, "Chalk line" Pacheco, "the Capman
Cometh" Stanton and "Redhead's Make Better Strippers" Orr.
- While these characters were busy frolicking about
fighting altitude sickness above, the Herculean task of cleaning up around the
building was tackled with gusto by the Dumpster Funsters - "It's not just a
Tractor" Ball, "Buckets-R-Us" Rogers, "Flashing"
Gordon, "Lightning Rod" Gary, "Cuts like a Knife" Bowie and
"Chaps" McCarthy.
- Water lines were even hooked up to the Trail Section by
Andy and the Brasseur boys.
By the end of Sunday, the crew's accomplishments had set
the bar for successive groups:
- Brush was piled and roofs cleared in the Old Senior
Section.
- Apache, Blackfoot and Cherokee were swept out and beds
set up.
- Scrap wood for Shop projects was collected and stored.
- A second donation of equipment and supplies from Simmons
College was picked up and delivered.
Whew!! And that was all with only a dozen or so folks
chipping in... think what could get accomplished if more Northwoodsmen banded
together this coming weekend.
