For those of you who need a break from leftover turkey or the latest indigestible Florida follies -

There's always the vision of a sunset gleaming off the ice-encased rocks along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee...

I am about to get on a plane bound for Michigan for a week-long conference, but that will hardly slow the pace of camping progress. Loretta is continuing her efforts to update the website, so there is still time for those of you who haven't yet sent in your information for the "Where R U Now?" page at

http://www.ymcacamp.net/where_are_they_now.htm

The new rates are out and and we are ready for online registrations! The most exciting news is the steady increase in the number of sons of former campers and staff who are signing up. It is great to see more multiple generations of Northwoodsmen joining the camping family tree!

The holiday week was a busy one indeed. Thanks to Andy Sherman for donating a ping pong table and the Gary clan for a number of items including an aquarium for the Nature program. It was great to see both Nick Taylor who paid a surprise visit to the camping offices and Bill McCarthy who stopped by camp. Of course, the biggest shock was Haydn Griffiths coming all the way from Australia to visit. Finally, congratulations to Marty and Eileen Stanton on surviving 25 years of marriage - may there be many more to come!!

Special thanks to all who came to the North Woods Association business meeting. A number of great ideas were discussed as we begin the planning process for 2001. Thanks to Jeremy Adams for joining the active membership and  to Ken Abrahams for volunteering to head up a Marketing & Technology committee. All those interested in participating please drop us a note.
