Holiday Greetings to the entire camping family! The past few weeks have been full of good cheer as we were able to see friends both old and new. John and Cathy Keeler, Larry Fudge, Di Todaro, Kelly Hetherington, Josh Otlin, Dave Fuente and Catherine Jaroszewski were just a few of the folks we were able to spend time with.

The elves have been busy indeed making sure camp is all set before the long-delayed winter sets in for good. Tom Marden, Mike McCarthy and Andy Sherman have virtually completed the structure to house the new water tanks to supply the Great Hall, Mac Hall and the kitchen. The rest of the Camping team came together to rip up the tile in the Infirmary level of the Barstow Lodge in anticipation of a significant revamping of the interior in time for the summer.

The farmhouse has also been a beehive of activity lately as a crew from Edgewise Productions has been calling camp home base during the filming of a small independent movie called the "Color of Water" at the Castle in the Clouds. It was also the setting for a program planning meeting which Keith McCarthy (fresh off his cameo in his own production of "Oliver") and Stacey Cutliff were able to attend. It almost felt like the summer when we ran into Kevin Young at Funspot the evening before while candlepin bowling.

Thanks to all who have sent updates for the "Where R You Now" page on the alumni website! We will be putting them up in time for the New Year. The camp calendars and newsletter will be sent out in the first week of 2002 and all staff members who want to update contact information have a mere ten days to send it in. Thanks to the efforts of Stephen Gordon, who has been volunteering time in the office, we have been making strides in updating addresses from old campers and staff from the 60's and '70's.

Good luck to Andy Sherman as he not only plans for next year's Forestry Patrol but soon heads out to take a Wilderness EMT course! Loretta and I are heading down to DC and invite anyone in the area who would like to get a personal update on camp happenings to drop us a note.

Finally, a little exciting news to report for those who have read this far... Josh Otlin and Rachel are engaged. Matt Frary is likewise going to tie the knot. Mike and Suzannah McCarthy are expecting their second child in late May. So, to pull a page from Lance Adams, Loretta and I are happy to announce that we, too, will be joining the diaper brigade in mid-June! Just in time for camp
