Well here's a blast from the past - it was way back around 1972 that I spent a fabulous 8 weeks at North Woods Camp. Although my staff shirt has long since bit the dust, I still have some very fond memories of the camp, the counselors and even the kids in my bunk. I still have the camp yearbook in one of my dusty files.

I remember not only the friendships made at the camp, but also the friends who entertained me as I toured around for a few weeks after camp before returning back to Britain. I stayed with Dave Gould's family at Lake Winnepesaukee for a few days before traveling down to Boston to stay with Peter McNiff. Then on again with Dave to Lehigh University and then on to Fred & Susan Morhart's home to allow me to see the sights of Washington.

I had intended to come back to North Woods in 1973 but unfortunately other commitments prevented this. I kept in touch with Dave Gould for a couple of years - but lost contact when my job moved me from London to Birmingham.

Having been talking to my two children - (Neil 19 and Sally 17) about my life as a counselor, it suddenly struck me that there might be a website. It was with great joy that I spotted some familiar names on the alumni list but alas others, who I would like to get in touch with, were not there.

For most of the past thirty years I have been teaching Physics and IT to High School and College students, but have now taken early retirement. I now work at the local college in the science labs - I enjoy this as there is no stress and much enjoyment in "playing" with new equipment that is around but which I had little time to really enjoy whilst I was busy teaching.

I am not sure whether my kids will want to do a summer or two in America, but I would certainly encourage them to do so as I know I benefited a lot from my experience there. My only regret is failing to keep in contact with the friends I made.

It would be great to hear from anybody out there who remembers me, and if you have anybody else's e-mails (or addresses) from that era I would love to get in contact with them.

Hope to hear from you,

All the best
