The Bells, the Bells...

The beginning of February has brought a blizzard of snow and good cheer, not to mention the sound of sleigh bells! A ton of the white stuff has blanketed camp as the latest Nor'Easter certainly left its mark and hopefully bodes well for the lake level next summer! This wintry present will certainly not put a damper on the exciting camp offseason, but does add another challenge to surmount.

Barring further surprises from Mother Nature, we are soon on our way across the pond! We will be at the Camp America Fair in London on the weekend of February 10th and 11th listening to Big Ben. Our Second Annual International Camp Reunion will be held the following Saturday, February 17th. We will be gathering in the hotel lobby of the Copthorne Tara London, Scarsdale Place, Kensington at 6pm. Jill Gary will be staying at the hotel from Friday, February 9th to Sunday February 18th and will be the contact for the event. Just give her a call at the hotel 020 7937 7211 and leave a message.

David and Loretta will be gallivanting from camp fair to camp fair all week, but will be back in plenty of time for the Reunion. In fact, if you would like to join us for a football match in London earlier in the day and make a full day of it, just give Jill a ring and she will pass the message along!! Thanks to Sam Fox and Martin Weaver for their timely assistance.

Before we board the big bird, there is still much to be done stateside. Sadly, the weather put a crimp on the Reach Out campaign as we had to cancel one of our phone-a-thon nights in Waltham. Despite this, we are plowing ahead and are almost half-way towards our goal thanks to the Herculean efforts of those who have come out to man the phones and the generosity of those who have answered the call thus far. However, with one fewer night of ringing phones, it means we could really use the help of those who have not yet been able to attend.

Our next night is Wednesday, February 7th at the Camping Offices downtown. In the interest of keeping families strong and allowing Cupid to do his duty unencumbered, we have also shifted the one next week to Thursday, February 15th at the Camping offices. If you happen to be outside of the Boston area, but are willing to help please drop us a note and we will send you a packet of info!

Speaking of info, the alumni website has been undergoing some major renovations to the Pleasant Valley section and we continue to get a steady stream of updates for the "Where are they now" page. When we return from London we will be putting on a slew of new photos, stay tuned!
