Letters to Camp from near and far!
|

Every once in a while we will share some
of the cards, notes and letters
that might be of interest to the North
Woods community.
So spend your Rest Hour wisely and write to camp!

What is Camp?

|
We might
say that camp is a "place." We would covet for every
camper green woods, lakes, bird calls, quiet sunsets - that his young
heart may be warmly aware of a Creator who has made "all things
beautiful in their time." But camp is more than a place.
We might say that
camp is a "plan." We would covet for every camper a
program thoroughly alive at every step - not too crowded for comfort, yet
abounding in opportunities for zestful adventuring all through each
day. Yet camp is more than a plan.
|
Camp
is what happens inside the campers - what they take home with them in
their memories, in their new purposes, in their improved or newly-acquired
skills, in their friendships, in their appreciations, in their at-homeness
with themselves and their physical universe and all others, in their
awareness of a power beyond themselves of His way for the world.
That's what camp is.
