May 16th - 18th signaled that Old Timers
was back!
All those traditions came flooding back while the older generation built bridges and talked about last
year's work on Mac's Lean
to!
This year we focused on The
Bridge Project. John Keeler issued an invitation to all Old
Timers:
"As many of the old-time folks as I
can roust out will be there. We have a bridge behind Roehrig Center to
reconstruct, a memorial to the Wilderness Patrol to build (dedication
2003), and possibly, if time allows, a new tent platform for the Forestry
Patrol (now a sort of new Wilderness Section).
Just the fact that we were in the old
Wilderness Patrol Section turning our fireplace/stove into a
cairn/commemorative was enough to turn out a few original Patrol
members.
Thanks for helping us correct a bad bridge;
the camaraderie, free food, farmhouse lodging, and fun.
Join us for next year's grand get-together!
